Our Curriculum
At StartWrite Preschool, our goal is to provide a balanced curriculum that meets New York State (NYS) learning standards while fostering the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of each child.
We offer a comprehensive program for both three- and four-year-olds, incorporating language, science, math, and social skills. The three-year-old program will have a maximum of 10 students to ensure individualized attention, while the four-year-old program will have a maximum of 12 students.
Our preschool opens at 8:55 a.m., and doors will remain locked until that time for security. Both the three-year-old classes (Tuesday and Thursday) and four-year-old classes (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. each day.
StartWrite Preschool follows the Geneseo Central School District calendar for grades K–6, with the exception of our starting date. This ensures that our schedule aligns with local public schools for holidays and breaks.
We look forward to partnering with you to provide a rich and engaging learning experience for your child.

A Day in the Life at StartWrite Preschool
Our days are designed to flow naturally, creating a balanced rhythm of play, learning, and mindfulness. A typical day might include:
Morning Circle: Begin the day with a group gathering, setting intentions, and practicing deep breathing.
Yoga & Movement: Flowing through gentle stretches and yoga poses to wake up the body and calm the mind.
Creative Learning: Hands-on activities, arts, crafts, and storytelling that encourage imagination and problem-solving.
Outdoor Adventure: Exploration in our nature spaces, including walks, gardening, and free play in the fresh air.
Sound Healing: Quiet moments of listening to sound baths, calming music, or nature sounds to center and relax.
Why we are unique
We go beyond the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic. We’re committed to raising the leaders of tomorrow through mindful education that fosters emotional health, empathy, and social responsibility. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and loved, and our nurturing environment provides just that.
What makes us unique:
Holistic Curriculum: We integrate emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and body awareness into every aspect of learning.
Community Building: We foster a sense of belonging and encourage cooperation, empathy, and kindness among our students.
Mindfulness Practices: Children learn tools like deep breathing, yoga, and sound baths to help them manage emotions and stay present.
Connection to Nature: Outdoor exploration is woven into our daily routines, encouraging children to develop a love and respect for the earth.

Kind Words
“I didn't want my children to be just another number in a cold environment that only focuses on checking off boxes. At StartWrite not only do hey learn the typical Pre-K items like numbers, letters, colors, etc. They are also taught about mindfulness. They do yoga, meditate, sound baths, and nature walks.”
